Consultation and Training Services
We offer a 'graded approach' and can tailor our consultation and training to meet your organisations specific need. We initially use our experienced SEN leaders for a visit or virtual consultation to discuss the focus and need. We can then follow up with a package to meet your requirements. This could involve a series of advisory visits and recommendation reports, some staff training, or perhaps a referral to our partnered therapists and professionals in speech and language, occupational therapy or psychology...
Skills Development and Training
At Outside the Box Consulting, we offer a range of consultation and training services aimed at enhancing skills development for professionals working with young people and children. Our team draws on experienced Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language therapists, and SEN leaders provide bespoke advice and support to help individuals and organizations improve their practices. We can offer training to any staff team with a focus on all aspects of SEMH, as well as Autism awareness, working with demand avoidant profiles and PDA, as well as using positive support strategies and trauma informed approaches with learners.
Professional Coaching and Support
We also provide professional coaching sessions tailored to meet the specific needs of educators and professionals in the field. Our coaching services include strategies to implement within the classroom, school-wide training programs, de-escalation training, trauma-informed training, as well as specialized workshops on autism and PDA. We can shadow existing staff working with SEN/SEMH and coach them 'on the job' using positive support strategies. We can shadow your staff team and then model positive strategies for working with even the most challenging need.
Advice and Support Planning
We can visit educational settings, such as schools or colleges, or more informal environments, such as clubs and youth centres to observe young people, meet with them and their support network and then write a bespoke plan or advisory report for how best to meet their needs effectively. This can be done as a stand alone piece, or as part of a regular arrangement with a provision.
Advocacy and family liaison
As experienced practitioners in Special education, and with diversity of skill across all four areas of SEN and evidence of supporting some incredibly challenging situations, we feel confident to help parents and carers with all aspects of SEN, including the EHCP process, reasonable adjustments to a provision, or just general advice and support strategies for a team around a child.
